AOPS Project Manager ISI - Senior Surveyor (New Construction Project Management) : Halifax, NS, Canada
We are seeking an experienced ship new construction project manager to lead our efforts in support of the Arctic Offshore and Patrol Ship (AOPS) project at Irving Shipyard in Halifax, NS, Canada. This is the first class of ship to be built within Canadas National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) for the Royal Canadian Navy, encompassing six(6) ships in total. Ship 1 (hull 6011) is scheduled for launching in September 2018, and Ships 2 and 3 are well underway. Your successful execution of this role has the potential to lead to an expanded role within the team for future ship classes within the NSS.
Our ideal candidate will have:
:Experience working as a Surveyor for a classification society, preferably involved in new construction projects
:A wide range of technical competencies for new construction
:New construction project management experience is essential; experience in naval new construction is preferred
:Strong communication and interpersonal skills
:An education in naval architecture or marine engineering; other engineering disciplines; consideration will be given to a combination of maritime training and seagoing experience
